(April 22, 2008) 5-song CD E.P. is recorded!.
Wow! What a marathon extra long weekend. We put in a lot of hours recording five songs for our upcoming EP release for later this summer. We're pretty excited! Check out some pictures from the recording session. Now it's off to mixing and mastering. We'll keep you posted on a release date and a CD release party.
(March 6, 2008) Hello again... New bass player for Arbra Hill.. Record new tunes..
Yes it has been far too long, but we have been very busy since the last update. We've written a pile of new tunes and our sound has certainly taken a new direction. So much so, we're planning to record a demo in early April. As soon as we're done, we'll post some new tunes. We're pretty excited about the new sound. Also to reflect the new "sound" we our going to re-brand with a new website shortly, so enjoy this one while you can.
We also have a new bass player and vocalist - Annaka Koldyk. We're thrilled to have Annaka as she adds some solid bass playing skills and rounds out some three-part harmonies. Beautiful! Leigh Fischer (our last bass player) left to pursue his heavy metal interests. Good luck, Leigh.
(November 5, 2007) Last gig for a while!
Hey, sorry about the short notice. We have a gig at Dylan O'Connors on Thursday. See GIGS. Our webmaster has been a bit of a lazy-ass lately. After this gig, we're going on song sabbatical - so to speak. We've been playing a lot, but now it's time to focus on writing some new songs and working out the kinks on others. We'll let you know when we're playing next and we hope to have a new tune or two on the site. Check back often!
(October 9, 2007) Arbra Hill to close out the Brewno Awards!
The Brewnos started out as tongue-and-cheek fun spirited jab at the 2005 Juno Awards in Winnipeg, but has quickly turned into an annual celebration of local music. This year, Arbra Hill is going to close out the show with a few tunes plus a clever twist on an old classic rock tune. Which one? You'll have to come out to hear for yourself. See our GIGS for more info.

(August 16, 2007) We're going "Crazy!"
Hey everyone, if you need tickets to the September film screening of "On the Edge of Crazy" at the Park Theatre on Osborne St. South, please let us know, and we'll gitcha' some. Arbra Hill is providing the music for the soundtrack and we'll also be performing at the Winnipeg screenings. Tickets are $10 for any of the three nights (Sept. 13-15). Email us at hello@arbrahill.com if you want to buy yours in advance.
Doors open at 7pm. We play at 7:30 pm, then the movie goes from 8:30 pm til about 10. It really is a fabulous comedy. We're in a self-imposed exile working on the soundtrack for it - which has been a lot of work, but very rewarding.
(July 15, 2007) Here we grow again!
Hey everybody! We’ve grown again... Genevieve Levasseur the newest and final addition to Arbra Hill. We’re thrilled to have her! Gen is a vocalist/guitarist who also plays a mean flute. We’re rehearsing like crazy to get Gen up to speed on our tunes so you can see and hear how cool she is in the band. Look for Gen to make her first appearance during one of our Fringe Festival gigs.

(June 10, 2007) Arbra Hill says "goodbye" to Chuck and "hello" to Frank!
If you were at the Winnipeg Pride festival earlier today, then you heard the news. Our long-time guitarist/vocalist, Andrew Morden (a.k.a. Chuck) played his last gig as a full-time member today after almost 5 years with the band. It was a great show, though, and we were glad to send him off in style! All we can say is - thanks so much for all the good times, Chucky! ...and who knows? He may join us live for a few songs now and then...
On that note, we're proud to welcome our new guitarist, Frank Rizzuto into the band. Frank is a super-talented player, who's been teaching "geetar" for years. He's a seasoned performer and has a great groove goin' on. We look forward to playing with him - and he'll definitely be busy since we have a ton of gigs coming up. His first show with us will be at Dylan O'Connors (location TBA) on Wednesday, June 20th at 9 p.m.
(June 5, 2007) Evolution of Note charts on Toronto radio
Arbra Hill's new CD, Evolution of Note, has cracked the Top 15 at CIUT 89.5 FM in Toronto.
The University of Toronto station has a huge reach: transmitting across southern Ontario to places like Barrie, Kitchener and Cobourg - and even Buffalo, New York. It appears the station's influence is working. Arbra Hill is popping up in the blogs of new Ontario fans like The Gadfli (gadfli.blogspot.com). Their music is also being played on CBC Radio Toronto, another influential station in the area.
Evolution of Note was officially released in late April and is receiving nation-wide attention in both radio and print. You can help us out by getting anyone in the Toronto area to request us on CIUT. Email music director Ron Burd at r_burd@ciut.fm - or call him weekdays between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. Toronto time at 416-978-0909.

(March 5, 2007) CBC Radio distribute "Evolution of Note" Across the country
We sent a copy "Evolution of Note" to CBC in Toronto with the hope of picking up some airplay. After giving our disc a spin, CBC asked us for 30 additional copies of "Evolution of Note" to distribute to their radio stations across the country, complete with a little write-up to their programmers.
So, no matter where you are in Canada, call your local CBC station and request Arbra Hill!
